Renée Hill Carter is an award-winning author, writer, inspirational speaker, and encourager. Her passion and mandate are to instill hope and propel others to dig deep, uncork their dreams, gifts, skills, and passion. Through her written and spoken words, the intent is to leave her audience determined and moving toward being fully engaged in their God-given assignment. Gifted in the areas of teaching, counseling and ministry service, she is a licensed ordained minister and sought after teacher. She currently ministers to others in holistic health and wellbeing particularly in their grief and loss  journey.  

Renée is the author of the Expanded Edition, What About Me? Staying Healthy and Whole While You’re Helping Others. Her first book, A Good Work Begun”, a collection of inspirational writings  received the 2014 Christian Authors Award in the Poetry Division.  

She has been featured in the AVAIL Leadership Journal and has written articles for Lifeway Christian Resources where she contributed to the YOU Adult Bible Study curriculum and Mature Living magazine. She is the producer of an inspirational album, Soothing Touch A Spa For Your Soul.

A graduate of Hampton University, Hampton, VA and member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, she also received a Master of Arts degree in Christian Counseling from Queen City Bible College which functioned from 1993 until its closure in 2014. More recently, she served as a professor of Christian Counseling at Chun University, Charlotte, NC. Classes included “The Emotional Health of the Biblical Counselor” using her book and Masterclass,  What About Me? as the main reference.  Other classes include “Multicultural Counseling” where she created the project “Getting to Know Your Neighbor.”  She is a featured facilitator at the Peacock Soul Care Leaders Masterclass. Renée has served on the staff of Nations Ford Community Church as Executive Coordinator to the Senior Pastor, the late Bishop Phillip M. Davis. From 1995 to her retirement in 2015, she provided organizational support to the Senior Pastor and other senior leadership of a dynamic and progressive ministry. She operated in the following areas using her gifts and skills.

• Coordinated schedules and activities in a fast paced, evolving ministry/business environment.
• Assisted with strategic planning and implementation of vision and mission of the church.
• Served as a mobilizer and encourager of fellow team/staff members.
• Functioned as staff liaison to the Care Ministries (Deacon Family Ministry; Hospital and Home Visitation and Care; Lay Counseling; Medical Care Team; Prayer Ministry).
• Created and implemented the Deacon Family Ministry.
• Developed and trained care ministry leaders and team members.
• Taught classes on discipleship, prayer, grief and loss, teaching, life enrichment.

Renée is the owner of Mulberry House Creations, which houses her books, albums, and other creative products. Prior to joining the staff of her church, Renée worked in the corporate arena for 17 years in Marketing at Bell South Telecommunications.  

Renée is a native of Beckley, West Virginia. She and her husband William (Bill) reside in Charlotte, NC and are the proud parents of three adult children; one grandson and one granddaughter.
